How to be a hottie in glasses: top tips

There are some glasses-wearers who are embarrassed of their look, feeling that their specs are making them look geeky or unattractive. This really doesn’t need to be the case, as glasses these days have become fashion accessories and there are many super-sexy styles to choose from.

If you want an example of just how good glasses can look, take a peek at celebrities like Avril Lavigne, Myleene Klass, Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Aniston – all of whom have been spotted embracing the ‘geek chic’ look in their designer glasses frames.

If you still don’t feel confident wearing your glasses in public, however, there are ways of enhancing your look.

Follow these top tips to be a true hottie in glasses:

Take extra care with your eye make-up, adding more drama to emphasise those peepers without making the look seem too heavy
Keep your hair out of your face to make your eyes and your glasses the centre of attention
Tone down lip colour, so that all eyes are on your frames
Keep blotting paper or powder handy. It’s an unfortunate fact but your skin may get a little shiny in areas where your glasses rest, so it’s important to touch-up regularly to stay looking immaculate!

Best gym deals are now

Now is the time of year to look out for great deals on gym memberships. People are less likely to join the gym before the New Year therefore gyms are crying out for new members. Of course the gyms are going to be busier than ever in January with people starting their new years resolution, but if you wait until the new year the deals will not be as good as they are now. I know money is tight at the moment but most gyms won’t expect you to make the first payment until January meaning there is no reason not to sign up now. Be sure to shop around though.

Road running in winter

Road running in the winter can be extremely dangerous in the winter for a number of reasons. If you are running at night this can make you less visible to drivers, if you are running in the day time the icy conditions could easily result in you falling over and seriously hurting yourself. The icy conditions can also cause cars to slip on the roads and you could be in the wrong place at the wrong time and become part of a nasty accident. If you are to go road running ensure you wear high viz clothing, stay away from busy roads and make sure the grip on your trainers isn’t too worn to prevent you from slipping.

Think before you eat

Before deciding to fill your face full of high calorie Christmas food over the next few weeks think of your body and work you have put in over the recent months. Consuming endless amounts of Chocolates, mince pies, alcoholic drinks and large helpings of food will result in you gaining many pounds over the festive season. Why not limit yourself to treats so you can savour the taste as well as saving your body from gaining weight. When it comes round to returning to the gym in January you will find it much easier to continue with your fitness program and you will not be one of those people desperately trying to burn all those festive calories.

Warming up when its cold

Warming up before exercise is extremely important during the winter months. You may be used to a basic warm up before your workout but because your body will be colder than normal at this time of year it makes the warming up part much more important. The last thing you want is to be injured for a long period of time as a result of you not warming up correctly. The trick is combine static stretching with dynamic stretching and then gradually raise the heart rate through light aerobic exercise. This will warm up your body and is likely to prevent injuries.

Powering through the festive season

This is the time of year where people really struggle to keep up their fitness routine. The cold weather combined with the temptation of Christmas snacks is what can keep people away from the gym or their fitness routine. It is key to keep focus on the routine otherwise all of the hard work that has been put in on the run up to Christmas will be completely wasted. Think of the love handles that were driving you crazy months ago, think of the fat that stopped you getting into those jeans. These will come back if you don’t continue with your fitness routine.

Give your image an uber hot overhaul

Now that we’re firmly in autumn, the new season is the perfect time to give yourself a major makeover and ensure that by the time the Christmas party season approaches (it is only a couple of months away now), you’re looking seriously hot to trot.

If you feel that you don’t look your very best, your confidence can take a massive knock, and nobody wants to spend their days feeling like the most unattractive person on earth.

This is why I believe that it always pays to make a bit of an effort- not for anyone else, but for yourself.

If you feel that you could benefit from losing a few pounds, combating that cellulite and banishing those bingo wings, take up a fun form of exercise such as aerobics or even pole dancing. Both of these activities are fab fun and will get you toned in no time at all.

If your work attire largely consists of a black black trousers and top, put a bit of pizazz back into your working week by investing in killer heels and statement accessories.

Having to wear big, thick glasses day in day out can also really ruin your other efforts, so why not look into laser eye surgery, and see yourself in a whole new light.

Give your image an overhaul and really raise the glamour stakes.

What are the best types of exercises?

There are hundreds and hundreds of different types of exercises and it depends on what you are wanting to tone up as to which one is the best.

As a slightly above average sized girl, the best exercise for me is cardio – therefore I would get the best results from going to a run either on a treadmill or on the road. Another good exercise is the cross trainer machine. The cross trainer allows you to work your upper body and lower body because you can move your arms more or vice versa.

In contrast to this, if I was pregnant, running and cardio would not be the best type of exercise to partake in. It is a bit too physical and demanding on your body. Swimming would be the best type of exerice for a pregnant woman.

Advantages of counting calories

I am an average sized girl, in fact I think I might be a little bit above average as I am a size 12 going on 14 and I do not count the calories. When I am at work I eat mainly healthy foods such as ham butties, soup, homemade pasta that I have brought in from home. Unless we head out to the pub and then I have a meal such as lasagne.

When I get home in the evenings my boyfriend usually cooks tea, however he has started a new job and now he doesnt get home until late so I have been making the tea.

On some other evenings me and my boyfriend are invited to my sisters house and she makes us a meal. Last time we went round she made sweet and sour chicken and rice, it was lovely.

Ultimately, I dont count calories as it would make life much too difficult, and I enjoy relaxing and not worrying about whether I have gone over my daily intake.
